Amid mutual accusations between the two parties of not adhering to the armistice and resorting to rumors, the Sudanese army spokesman confirmed today (Tuesday) that there is no stability in the country except with one armed force.
In statements to Al-Arabiya and Al-Hadath channels, the spokesman accused the Rapid Support Forces of trying to form a state within the state, and intensifying its movements during the armistice to strengthen its military positions, indicating that the army dealt wisely with the excesses of the Rapid Support Forces so that the country would not descend into war, and we had to deal with the military movements of those forces.
This came at a time when the General Command of the Sudanese Armed Forces denied rumors about the injury of the Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Muhammad Osman Al-Hussein, of a heart attack or the escape of the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Yassin Ibrahim, accusing, in a statement, of the Rapid Support Forces of being behind those rumors.
The General Command said: The Rapid Support Forces continue to violate the declared truce by intensifying military movements and trying to exploit the situation by obtaining supplies of ammunition by transporting them in a convoy consisting of large transport vehicles and four-wheel drive cars, which required dealing with them by the army forces, adding: “This coincides with a usual wave From spreading lies and misinformation in the media in order to cover up their violations, including talk about the low morale of our forces, their suffering from a shortage of combat supplies, the death of the Chief of Staff from a heart attack, the escape of the Minister of Defense and other ridiculous lies that they became addicted to until they became one of their features.
He indicated that they are ready to continue performing their duty, vowing to evacuate Sudan from what he described as “the militia of treachery, treason and sabotage.”
Despite the truce entering into force, the sound of shelling and clashing with heavy weapons in the center of Khartoum is still resounding, while the vicinity of the Republican Palace, the TV and separate areas of Omdurman are witnessing extensive clashes with various weapons, according to eyewitnesses.
