The Sudanese crisis, whose events are escalating day after day, has proven the weight and position of Saudi Arabia regionally and globally, after the Saudi efforts exerted around the clock succeeded in finding agreement on a humanitarian truce between the belligerents. Based on Saudi-American mediation for a period of 72 hours, and the announcement of the Sudanese army’s approval of that armistice, as of midnight on Tuesday.
Saudi efforts did not stop during the crisis, as the armistice was preceded by tireless work that continued day and night to evacuate Saudi citizens in Khartoum, along with foreign nationals from 11 countries, including international diplomatic staff.
The Kingdom’s evacuation of citizens from the sisterly Republic of Sudan came, in implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his trustworthy Crown Prince, and based on Saudi Arabia’s duty towards its citizens in all countries of the world.
The Kingdom’s response to the requests submitted by brotherly and friendly countries to evacuate their nationals in the Republic of Sudan is an affirmation of the Kingdom’s influential role as a reliable partner for the international community.
