Amid the exchange of accusations between the two parties to the conflict in Sudan, today (Thursday), clashes and violent shelling broke out in the southern neighborhoods of Khartoum.
Sudanese sources said that there is an exchange of shelling between the Rapid Support Forces and the army in the Al-Salha area in Omdurman and Kafouri, east of Khartoum North, and army forces were seen heading towards the Shambat bridge and the airport neighborhood, as it is being combed and the surrounding areas.
Today, the army announced, in a statement, the extension of its control over most of the states in the country, stressing that the military situation inside and outside Khartoum is very stable, except for the state of West Darfur, which witnessed a tribal conflict that is being dealt with by the local authorities.
He pointed out that his forces are coherent and are performing their national role in defeating the rebellion with steadfastness and confidence in all directions, accusing those he described as “rebels” in reference to the Rapid Support Forces led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, of attempting to launch an attack, yesterday, on the Central Region Command, indicating that he had confronted They suffered great losses.
The army acknowledged the presence of the Rapid Support Groups in separate areas of Khartoum, but said that they were ineffective, accusing them of using the method of indiscriminate bombing of the central areas of the capital.
On the other hand, the Rapid Support Forces accused the army of striking a camp belonging to them in the Kafouri area with air and artillery, indicating that the bombing took place in light of the humanitarian truce that was allocated to open humanitarian corridors for citizens and residents of foreign countries.
At the same time, the Preliminary Committee of the Sudan Doctors Syndicate announced today that the number of civilians killed since the beginning of the clashes between the army and the Rapid Support Forces rose to 303, while 1848 civilians were injured, explaining that many of the dead and wounded are not included in this inventory, due to the inability to reach for hospitals; Because of the difficulty of movement in light of the security situation in the country.
