The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority at Al-Bathaa port managed to thwart an attempt to smuggle a quantity of Captagon pills amounting to (4,152,000) pills, which were found hidden in a consignment coming to the Kingdom through the port.
The authority stated that a consignment was received to the Kingdom through the Batha port, consisting of “ovens used for roasting” carried on one of the incoming trucks, and when they were subjected to customs procedures and examined through security techniques, that amount of grain was found within the consignment, so that it was hidden inside “cavities.” Ovens.
The authority stated that after completing the seizure process, coordination took place with the General Directorate for Narcotics Control to ensure the arrest of the recipients of the seizures inside the Kingdom, where they were arrested, numbering 3 people.
The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority confirmed that it is continuing to tighten customs control over the Kingdom’s imports and exports, in order to achieve the security of society and protect it from these pests, in cooperation and continuous coordination with the General Directorate for Drug Control.
