Eleven people were killed and one is missing when a ferry they were traveling in capsized off the eastern coast of Sumatra Island today (Friday). According to the Indonesian Search and Rescue Agency, the ferry was carrying about 74 people to the small island of Tanjung Pinang near neighboring Singapore, and it is believed that it hit a tree trunk about 30 minutes after sailing. The agency indicated that the search is still ongoing for the missing person.
