The researcher in the affairs of terrorist groups, Dr. Sabra Al-Qasimi, told “Okaz”: The Sudanese Brotherhood is trying to play new roles in light of the current conflict, and seeks to have a role in the process of resolving this conflict and imposing itself on the political scene in the country, and employing the current crisis in its favor by reserving a place It preceded it in the Sudanese political map, while the international organization of the Brotherhood and the Egyptian Brotherhood stand with all their strength to support the Sudanese Brotherhood, with the aim of returning to power again, and the latter exploits its relationship with the former regime, “Omar al-Bashir’s regime” and its communication with a number of security and executive institutions inside the country, to achieve gains for it On the ground.
Al-Qasimi added: The Egyptian and Sudanese organizations have common denominators on the need to punish the two peoples with their revolutions against the rule of the Brotherhood, and they also have internal and external goals. It also has no objection to dividing Sudan. As for the external goals of the elements of the Brotherhood organization, foremost among them is punishing the Egyptian state for not supporting the Bashir regime when the Sudanese people revolted against it, and returning to the rule of Egypt again, or putting it in a state of security, political and economic instability, so that it takes care of its affairs. Only, and in the event that all this fails, unrest is stirred up through qualitative armed operations carried out by the sleeping Brotherhood cells, of a jihadist nature, or in cooperation with ISIS cells.
The researcher concluded by saying: “The Brotherhood is the cause of the region’s calamities and disasters, and if it were not for it, the region would have enjoyed security, safety and stability,” stressing the importance of preserving Sudan and preventing the leaders and youth of the terrorist organizations fleeing from returning to their land again.
