The Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Eng. Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi, announced the launch of 22 specialized initiatives in the field of occupational safety and health, through the National Strategic Program for Occupational Safety and Health, indicating that the Kingdom’s efforts contributed to achieving many achievements at the international level, including the implementation of the provisions of the Organization’s agreements. International Labor Organization, as well as organizing the Fifth Saudi International Conference in conjunction with the Fourth Arab Conference on Occupational Safety and Health 2022, in cooperation with the Arab Labor Organization, and the participation of a number of relevant government agencies and major private sector companies.
Al-Rajhi stressed the Kingdom’s leading position in the field of occupational safety and health in the region, praising the successes achieved by the Kingdom in raising awareness of the concept of occupational safety and health in the work environment, spreading the culture of prevention and enhancing public safety.
On the occasion of the International Day for Occupational Health and Safety, Eng. Al-Rajhi stated that the approval of the Council of Ministers to organize the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health comes as an extension of the continuous government support enjoyed by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development to achieve the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and the labor market strategy in the field of occupational safety and health. He explained that the Kingdom has succeeded during the past years in achieving many successes and achievements in this field. As a result of the programs and initiatives that I worked on, in addition to improving and enacting legislation, bylaws and systems related to occupational safety and health at the national level.
