The Minister of Interior, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef, directed the formation of a main committee in each of Makkah Al-Mukarramah and Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, to be called (the Housing Committee); It specializes in dealing with all issues of housing pilgrims in accordance with the competence entrusted to it according to the system of houses intended for housing pilgrims and its implementing regulations, and it is linked to the Emir of the region. It consists of the region’s emirate, the secretariat, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the Ministry of Tourism, Civil Defense and the police.
The directive came after reviewing the housing system for pilgrims and the executive regulations for the housing system for pilgrims.
