At the invitation of Saudi Arabia, the current Chairman of the Islamic Summit, and the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Executive Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation will hold an emergency meeting, the day after tomorrow, Wednesday, at the headquarters of the Organization’s General Secretariat in Jeddah to discuss developments in the situation in the Republic of Sudan.
The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Hussein Ibrahim Taha, affirmed that the emergency meeting of the Executive Committee reflects the interest of member states in the current events in Sudan and their keenness to restore security and stability in it.
Taha renewed his appeal for a permanent ceasefire in Sudan and the resort to dialogue in order to preserve the security and safety of the Sudanese people and the Sudanese state and its capabilities, and to resume the political process.
