The Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Engineer Ahmed Al-Rajhi, affirmed Saudi Arabia’s leading position in the field of occupational safety and health in the region, praising the successes achieved by Saudi Arabia in raising awareness of the concept of occupational safety and health in the work environment, spreading the culture of prevention and enhancing public safety.
And he indicated, on the occasion of the International Day for Occupational Health and Safety, that the approval of the Council of Ministers to organize the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health comes as an extension of the continuous government support enjoyed by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development system to achieve the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and the labor market strategy in the field of occupational safety and health, explaining During the past years, the Kingdom has succeeded in achieving many successes and achievements in this field. As a result of the programs and initiatives that I worked on, in addition to improving and enacting legislation, bylaws and systems related to occupational safety and health at the national level.
Al-Rajhi referred to the launch of 22 specialized initiatives in the field of occupational safety and health through the National Strategic Program for Occupational Safety and Health, indicating that the Kingdom’s efforts contributed to achieving many achievements at the international level, including the implementation of the provisions of the International Labor Organization conventions, as well as the organization of the fifth Saudi International Conference. In conjunction with the Fourth Arab Conference on Occupational Safety and Health 2022, in cooperation with the Arab Labor Organization, and with the participation of a number of relevant government agencies and major private sector companies.
