The Shura Council called on the National Center for Mental Health Promotion to prepare a strategic plan for scholarships, in coordination with the Ministry of Education, to provide the required human competencies, and to prepare a plan for developing its own resources, including coordination and partnership with the private sector, the endowment sector, and the non-profit sector, and reviewing the organizational structure.
Yesterday (Monday), the Shura Council discussed the report of the Hajj, Housing and Services Committee regarding the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, and a number of members expressed many opinions. Dr. Fadl Al-Buainain called on the authority to address the challenge of the slow flow of industrial investments to Yanbu Industrial City, and to develop a comprehensive strategy through which it redraws the targeted industrial sectors to be more attractive to investments and to provide incentives to investors.
Nasser Al-Deghaither also stressed the importance of the authority organizing cultural, sports and tourism activities and events to increase the turnout of visitors and investors. Learn about the history and culture of cities and their stages of development.
For his part, Dr. Abdullah Al-Salama questioned the extent of the authority’s readiness to keep pace with the launch of the special economic zones in the cities of Ras Al-Khair and Jazan for manufacturing industries. He also called for increasing control over environmental compliance and addressing duplication between the National Center for Environmental Compliance Control and the authority.
Dr. Assem Madkhali called for increasing the authority’s contribution to developing the human capacities of the population communities close to industrial sites and cities.
In another decision, the Council called on the Authority for the Care of Persons with Disabilities to carry out a scientific re-conduct of the national survey conducted by the General Authority for Statistics in the field of disability in 2017, with the need to control variables, develop methodologies, and define terms. In its decision, the Council called for support for the authority’s efforts to obtain data on persons with disabilities from various sectors, to develop indicators to measure compliance with the application of universal access program guides, and to expedite the creation of a unit or department concerned with cybersecurity.
The Council called on the Authority to study the laws and regulations related to disability in the Kingdom, and work to harmonize them, by making the necessary amendments, in line with the characteristics and needs of persons with disabilities.
In its decision, the Council also called for empowering the authority to work on activating its organization, which leads to increasing the effectiveness of its representation of the Kingdom in regional and global forums related to disability.
