Yesterday, the scientific conference “Computational Advancements in the Field of Structural Biology” was launched, which is organized by the Computational Biology Research Center at KAUST University. The academic gathering, which is held over 3 days, aims to enhance cooperation locally and internationally in the fields of energy and diagnostic biotechnologies, given what these technologies aspire to understand living systems and harness their capabilities in diagnosing diseases and producing new compounds of interest that seek to contribute to the development of public health. . According to the organizers, this conference serves as a platform to support research partnerships between various sectors, and to connect data scientists and researchers in the field of computer science with specialists in medicine and molecular biology in general at the local and international levels. It also sheds light on the young skills of researchers and graduate students to add to the scientific research output of the Kingdom, and at the same time the conference presents a model for rapid development in this field using modern computer technologies.
Among the important objectives of the conference is King Abdullah University’s endeavor to introduce the international scientific community to research activities in the Kingdom, and to highlight Saudi Arabia and its leading role in scientific research at the level of the region and the Middle East.
