The Palestinian ambassador to the Kingdom, Basem Al-Agha, revealed to “Okaz” that Saudi Arabia has evacuated about 200 Palestinians from Sudan, including students and families, and that more of the stranded are being completed and counted.
Ambassador Al-Agha said: Palestine, under its leadership and its people, and those who were covered by this care, highly and dearly appreciate those efforts and expressed their happiness for what they saw and touched in terms of care, embrace and attention, from the moment they left Sudan until the moment they arrived in the Kingdom, where there is safety and security, and the humanitarian aspect that was practiced by the various parties during their reception and cooperation. With everyone of different nationalities and providing services to them, which are humane and noble stances that are not surprising for the Kingdom, its leadership and its people, and they appreciated the concerned authorities in the Kingdom for their efforts to secure their transportation and work to facilitate procedures for their arrival to safety.. “It is the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, always the first to make the bid And help and relief, and a balm for everyone who is exposed to crises throughout this world.
He added, “These are immortal positions written in history by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Muhammad bin Salman, towards Palestine, its people, Jerusalem, and Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
Ambassador Al-Agha said: I offer, on behalf of President Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian people, all thanks, appreciation and gratitude for the Saudi leadership’s humanitarian role in evacuating a large number of nationals of brotherly and friendly countries from the wounded Sudan, including Palestinian nationals, families and students, whose number has so far reached about 200.
Ambassador Al-Agha added, “President Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian people highly appreciate the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Muhammad bin Salman, and their direct follow-up to the evacuation process and ensuring their safety, and that the evacuation takes place easily and without any complications.”
“The Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Hussein Al-Sheikh, gave all thanks and gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its leadership for this pioneering role,” he said.
The Palestinian Cabinet praises the Saudi role
Ambassador Al-Agha mentioned that the Palestinian Cabinet, in its last session, praised the Saudi role in evacuations, hosting and reception. The Palestinian ambassador revealed the phone call between the Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, and the Palestinian Minister of Expatriates, Dr. Riyad Al-Maliki, in this regard, and Prince Faisal expressed all welcome for the evacuation of the Palestinians from Sudan.
Ambassador Al-Agha extended his thanks and gratitude to the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the high coordination with the relevant authorities, with the Palestinian Embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate General in Jeddah.
He explained that the Palestinian Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Al-Deek, praised the role of the Kingdom, and that the evacuation of those stranded in Sudan is a heroic and noble act.
Ambassador Al-Agha praised the great humanitarian, diplomatic and logistical role provided by the government of the Kingdom, by continuing the process of evacuating the nationals of his country and brotherly and friendly countries and their arrival from Sudan to Jeddah, amidst great hospitality and interest, and the accompanying coordination with the Palestinian Embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate General in Jeddah. .
The Palestinian ambassador expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their great humanitarian efforts in continuing the process of evacuating stranded nationals, and for their direct follow-up of all steps and overcoming difficulties, which contributed to the success of the field plans until their safe and secure arrival in the city of Jeddah.
