The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Lebanon, Walid bin Abdullah Bukhari, reiterated that the Saudi position stresses the need to expedite the election of a president for the Lebanese Republic who is capable of achieving what the brotherly Lebanese people aspire to. Bukhari said in a statement after his visit to Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri in Ain al-Tineh today (Wednesday): We do not accept the ongoing presidential vacuum that threatens the stability and unity of the Lebanese people.
Ambassador Bukhari visited the Mufti of Lebanon, Sheikh Abd al-Latif Darian, at the headquarters of Dar al-Fatwa. In a tweet by Al-Bukhari, “the meeting was an occasion during which they reviewed the latest developments in the Lebanese arena, especially the presidential election and the importance of achieving it, in addition to a number of issues of common concern.”
