And the presidency in Rwanda announced the death of 127 people in the northern, western and southern provinces after heavy rains at night (Tuesday / Wednesday), while the Rwandan Broadcasting Authority stated that floods and landslides caused by heavy rains killed at least 109 people in the west of the country, while the authorities are searching for Survivors trapped in their homes.
Video clips – on the Rwanda Broadcasting Corporation’s Twitter account – showed water flowing rapidly along the road and destroyed homes.
“Our first priority now is to reach every house destroyed by the torrential rains, to ensure that we try to rescue anyone who might be trapped,” said Western Province Governor Francois Hapetigikou, adding: The death toll has reached 95 people in the province.
