Today (Wednesday), Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to activate the political track and peaceful dialogue, in a way that pushes for the return of stability and security, and takes into account the higher interests of the Sudanese people, explaining that his country is making every effort to advance the path of peaceful political dialogue in Sudan and stop the launch of fire and protect civilians from the humanitarian repercussions of the conflict.
This came during President El-Sisi’s reception today of a high-level delegation from the US House of Representatives headed by Kevin McCarthy, Speaker of the House, and the membership of a number of chairmen and members of committees from the Republican and Democratic parties, including the Foreign Affairs, Armed Forces, and Cybersecurity committees, and the advisor participated in the meeting from the Egyptian side. Hanafi Jabali, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Foreign Affairs. The Egyptian Presidency Spokesman, Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, stated that the meeting witnessed confirmation of the depth of the extended strategic partnership between Egypt and the United States, and the close and complex ties and relations of cooperation between them, indicating that the President stressed the importance that Egypt’s assumption of communication with the leaders of the US Congress within the framework of coordination and consultation between the two friendly countries at various levels, especially in light of the turbulent regional reality in the region, and the escalating challenges it poses, in addition to the current international situation, which has left crises in energy, food and financing, with a prolonged negative impact. Many countries of the world, and the meeting witnessed ways to restore and consolidate peace and security at the international level, and deal with relevant developments, in addition to developments on the regional scene and the crises the region is going through, especially with regard to the recent developments in Sudan.
