A 6.3-magnitude earthquake hits western Japan

Today, an earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale struck Ishikawa Prefecture, western Japan.

The Japanese Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) television stated that the epicenter of the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 km, indicating that there is no threat of a tsunami.

There have been no reports of material or human losses due to the earthquake so far.
