Today (Saturday), Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan welcomed the presence of representatives of the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces in the city of Jeddah, for dialogue about the situation in their homeland.
Prince Faisal said in tweets on his Twitter account: We hope that the dialogue between the Sudanese army and the rapid support that is taking place in the city of Jeddah will lead to an end to the conflict, the launch of the political process, and the return of security and stability to Sudan, adding: Hosting the Sudanese dialogue comes as a result of international solidarity and was made with unremitting efforts with America, in partnership with the Quartet countries and the partners of the tripartite mechanism.
On the other hand, Egypt praised the Saudi efforts and the regional and international efforts that contributed to encouraging the Sudanese parties to start dialogue, welcoming the start of preliminary talks between representatives of the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces in Jeddah.
In a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, today, Egypt expressed its aspiration that the talks would result in a comprehensive and permanent ceasefire, which would preserve the lives and capabilities of the Sudanese people, and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian and relief aid to those affected, urgently calling on both parties to the conflict in Sudan to immediately cease fire and uphold the supreme national interest.
