The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Hussain Ibrahim Taha, praised the humanitarian initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and his trustworthy Crown Prince, by directing the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center to provide various humanitarian aid worth $100 million, and to organize a popular campaign through the “Sahem” platform. For the benefit of the Sudanese people.
The Secretary-General expressed his thanks to the wise leadership for this initiative and the generous support, which comes within the framework of the Kingdom’s firm and well-established policy of strengthening Islamic solidarity and advocating for Muslim peoples, especially in times of crisis. He reiterated his urgent appeal to the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, financial and humanitarian institutions, and international donors. To provide urgent humanitarian aid to Sudan, in light of the deteriorating humanitarian situation currently afflicting the country.
The Secretary-General of the organization also renewed his call on donors and international partners to quickly provide medical supplies and health services to Sudan, and to support the efforts of Sudan’s neighboring countries in hosting many Sudanese and foreign refugees.
