A member of the Shura Council, Fadl bin Saad Al-Buainain, confirmed to “Okaz” that the Kingdom is at the forefront of countries providing humanitarian aid, loans and grants to developing and afflicted countries.
He added, “The Kingdom’s humanitarian initiatives exceed the quotas approved by the United Nations, and it takes upon itself to bear additional relief budgets that international organizations are unable to provide appropriate funding for by donor countries.”
Al-Buainain said, “The position of the Kingdom’s leadership is firm and supportive of countries in crises by providing urgent humanitarian aid to the needy through the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action, which handles aid delivery and distribution in afflicted countries.”
He explained that the Kingdom’s leadership is keen to stand with the afflicted peoples and alleviate them as a result of crises, including the current crisis in Sudan, as directives were issued by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to provide urgent support estimated at 100 million dollars to the Sudanese people, and to direct the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action to launch a campaign Popular to help affected people in Sudan.
He pointed out that this directive reflects the keenness of the Kingdom’s leadership to provide relief to the needy and affected, launch popular campaigns to help them and alleviate their pain, and the participation of governments and countries in assuming their responsibilities towards the afflicted.
A member of the Shura Council, Fadl bin Saad Al-Buainain, affirmed that the Kingdom’s humanity and the keenness of its leadership go beyond providing humanitarian aid to the political contribution to addressing crises and bringing the parties to the conflict to the table of political discussions to find final solutions to the crisis, which has turned into a deep humanitarian crisis.
And he indicated that directing the implementation of a popular campaign for relief to Sudan is an important matter that opens the door for citizens to contribute to the relief of their brothers in Sudan, and this movement includes providing an opportunity for citizens and residents to make donations through a popular campaign according to an easy and safe technical mechanism through the “Sahem” platform, or the account. Unified Banking, it will contribute to expanding the circle of participation, and the involvement of community members in providing aid and assistance to their affected brothers and providing some of their basic requirements, foremost of which are shelter, medicine and food.
The success of the King Salman Center in managing the system of donations and relief and humanitarian programs strengthened the participation of citizens in urgent relief campaigns directed abroad, especially since the assistance provided by the Kingdom through the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action comes from the keenness of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince to stand by the sons of The brotherly Sudanese people, and mitigating the effects of the crisis in Sudan.
The Kingdom’s support and provision of humanitarian assistance to Sudan comes as an extension of its humanitarian efforts in carrying out evacuation flights for Saudi citizens and nationals of brotherly and friendly countries from the sisterly Republic of Sudan, which were the first sea evacuations carried out since the outbreak of the conflict in the Republic of Sudan, in implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. .
The total aid provided by the Kingdom to Sudan amounted to about one billion and 684 million dollars, in support of 162 projects in the sectors of health, education, food security and other various sectors, and the Saudi Fund for Development is the highest Saudi donor to Sudan.
