The Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation team succeeded in obtaining the consent of the relatives of a brain-dead person at Najran General Hospital to donate his organs for the benefit of patients with organic insufficiency. The life of a 52-year-old citizen was saved and his suffering with acute hepatic insufficiency ended, and the suffering of another male and female citizen was ended with hemodialysis sessions. The left kidney of a 47-year-old male was transplanted, while the right kidney of a 32-year-old female was transplanted.
The Director General of the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation, Dr. Talal Al-Qoufi, stated that the process of distributing organs was carried out in accordance with medical ethics, and in a manner that guarantees fair distribution according to the medical priorities of patients, pointing out that the success achieved was the result of joint cooperation between all concerned parties, praising the efforts of the Medical Referral Center at the Ministry of Health. This is to transfer the removed organs to them as soon as possible.
The Director General of the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation also expressed his great gratitude and appreciation to the family of the deceased who chose to donate the organs of their relatives, and to grant a new life to these patients, praying to God Almighty to bless their deceased with the abundance of His mercy and forgiveness and to reward his relatives with the best reward in this world and the Hereafter.
