The Special Forces for Environmental Security arrested (54) violators of the environmental law, (33) citizens, and (21) residents of Sudanese nationality. They committed violations of grazing (928) camels and (210) heads of sheep in places where grazing is prohibited in the King Abdulaziz Royal Reserve, the King Salman Royal Reserve, the Imam Abdulaziz bin Muhammad Royal Reserve, and the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve.
The spokesman for the Special Forces for Environmental Security, Colonel Abdul Rahman Al-Otaibi, stated that the regular procedures were applied against the violators, stressing that the penalty for violating camel grazing is a fine of up to (500) riyals for each body, and the penalty for grazing sheep is a fine of up to (200) riyals for each head.
He urged the speaker to report any cases of assault on the environment or wildlife to the number (911) in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Riyadh and the eastern regions, and (999) and (996) in the rest of the Kingdom’s regions.
