The Media Committee – one of the specialized committees in the Shura Council – discussed yesterday during its meeting, chaired by Council member and Chairman of the Committee Dr. Ali bin Ahmed Al-Qarni, a number of issues referred by the Council to the Committee in preparation for submitting its reports containing its opinion and recommendations regarding them before the Council during the coming period. During the meeting, in which the members of the Council participated, members of the committee discussed what was stated in the annual report of the Radio and Television Corporation for the fiscal year 1443/1444. The committee also discussed during the meeting the annual report of the Saudi Press Agency for the fiscal year 1443/1444, and information contained therein about the Agency’s performance during the reporting year. During the meeting, the committee reviewed the efforts made by the authorities in light of what was stated in their annual reports.
On the other hand, the Energy and Industry Committee held a meeting chaired by Council Member and Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Osama bin Hassan Aref, during which it discussed issues referred to it by the Council, which included annual performance reports for a number of government agencies, and memorandums of understanding and cooperation in the field of energy and industry. The agenda of the meeting, in which the members of the Council, members of the committee participated, included discussing the annual report of the Water and Electricity Regulatory Authority for the fiscal year 1443/1444, and the committee also discussed the annual report of the Saudi Center for Energy Efficiency for the fiscal year 1443/1444.
The Health Committee of the Shura Council also held a meeting chaired by Council member and Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Hassan Al Masloum, with the participation of members of the Council, members of the Committee, to discuss a number of issues referred to it by the Council, in preparation for submitting its reports during the coming period.
During the meeting, they discussed what was stated in the annual report of the Public Health Authority for the fiscal year 1443/1444, and the information contained therein related to the efforts made by the authority. The committee also discussed in the same meeting the annual report of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority for the fiscal year 1443/1443. 1444, and what was mentioned in the annual report of the Food and Drug General Authority for the fiscal year 1443/1444 was also discussed. During the meeting, the committee examined the work and efforts undertaken by the entities that fall within its jurisdiction, in light of what was stated in their annual reports related to their performance during the reporting year. It is noteworthy that the specialized committees of the Shura Council discuss, according to their terms of reference, the issues referred to them by the Council, in order to study them in detail and to present their recommendations regarding these issues.
