Yesterday, the Emir of Tabuk, Prince Fahd bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, sponsored the inauguration ceremony of the “Taking Fatwa from Its Approved Sources” initiative, which is organized by the General Presidency for Scholarly Research and Ifta.
And the Emir of Tabuk said, in his speech: “Just looking at the title of this meeting, we realize the farsightedness of the Mufti on his choice of topics that concern Muslims in general and concern us in this country in particular; Because the fatwa is one of the most important and dangerous matters, and we are a Muslim people who believe in its religion and its scholars, and draw everything from them.
And the Emir of Tabuk explained that it is not permissible for any person who is not qualified or not approved by the Mufti and the Presidency to issue a fatwa on any issue before returning to the reference, so that the fatwa is clear, explicit and comprehensive for all. Prince Fahd bin Sultan indicated by saying: “We are in a great blessing, for your country was united by King Abdulaziz and reunited with him the loyal men of your fathers and grandfathers from all parts of this country, who were able to unite this country and prove it according to the Book and the Sunnah, so when he started, he began with the word there is no god but God, Muhammad is the Messenger of God.” He added: “We are here in the Tabuk region and in all regions of the Kingdom, under the generous guidance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and his trustworthy Crown Prince, with a clear and frank vision based on the Book and the Sunnah, and our adherence to our belief, and we are well and our country is fine and it will be fine.” For his part, the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom, Chairman of the Council of Senior Scholars, and General President of Scholarly Research and Ifta, Sheikh Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh, in a speech delivered on his behalf by Director General of the General Department of Fatwa Sheikh Walid Al-Saadoun, explained that security and stability are among the greatest blessings of God upon His servants, and it is the demand of every human being on his behalf. This is simple, because without it, the scales are disturbed, and human conditions are disturbed, and among the reasons for security and stability, the greatest of which is the Oneness of God – may He be glorified and exalted – and worshiping Him, and abandoning the worship of anything else. And he added: God has preserved for this blessed state its status and unity, and those who are upon it by the rallying of its people on their rulers and bestowed upon it from His grace with wise leadership and rational government since the era of the founder, King Abdulaziz, until the era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his trustworthy Crown Prince, and the General Presidency for Scholarly Research and Ifta; Represented in the Council of Senior Scholars and the Standing Committee for Fatwas, all support and care from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince, regarding fatwas and muftis, as the Noble Royal Order No. Conditions, and it was approved by the competent authorities, thus blocking the way for anyone who begged himself to issue fatwas without knowledge and insight.
