The spokesman for the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing, Saif Al-Suwailem, revealed to “Okaz” the mechanism that requires withdrawing the free lands allocated to the beneficiaries and the period granted to them to obtain building permits.
He explained that what was stated in Article 39 of the executive regulations for regulating housing subsidies is applied, taking into account the provisions of Article 18 of this regulation.
And he indicated that the beneficiary of the housing subsidy, to whom a residential land has been allocated, must commit to obtaining a building permit within 6 months from the date of completion of the allocation, while the beneficiary must also start construction within a period not exceeding a year of the allocation, and complete construction within a period not exceeding 3 years of customization. He pointed out that the sites specified by the Ministry are excluded from this, as distinguished sites of high value, so that the period specified for issuing a building permit and starting it does not exceed 6 months from the date of completion of the privatization, provided that the construction is completed within a period not exceeding 3 years from the privatization.
With regard to housing support for which only a housing loan or financing has been allocated, Al-Suwailem stated that the beneficiary must use the loan or financing to purchase a house, or start the procedures for building a house within a period not exceeding a year from the date of completion of the allocation, and in the event of building a house, the construction must be completed within A period not exceeding 3 years from the date of completion of the privatization.
