The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced today (Tuesday) that Istanbul will host tomorrow (Wednesday) four-way talks between Turkey, Russia, Ukraine and the United Nations, to discuss several issues, including the extension of the grain shipment agreement through the Black Sea, explaining that the four-way meeting will discuss the evacuation of Turkish commercial ships trapped in Ukrainian ports due to The clashes going on there.
The statement stated that the quadripartite meeting will last for two days and will discuss extending the grain shipment agreement from Ukrainian ports and activating it quickly and safely to achieve stability in global food prices and prevent harm to countries in need and prepare detailed and safe plans for the evacuation of Turkish commercial ships and their crews from Ukrainian ports.
In July 2022, Istanbul witnessed the signing of the Safe Shipping Initiative document for grains and foodstuffs from Ukrainian ports between Turkey, Russia, Ukraine and the United Nations.
