Today (Wednesday), the Royal Saudi Naval Forces in the Western Fleet Command inaugurated the second and third boats of the “Medium Fast Patrol Boats” project, the French Quash model.
The Deputy Commander of the Naval Forces, Rear Admiral Muhammad Al-Gharibi, raised the flag on the two boats on behalf of the Commander of the Naval Forces, Lieutenant General Fahd Al-Ghafili, marking their entry into active service in the fleet, in the presence of the Commander of the Western Fleet, Rear Admiral Yahya Asiri.
Quash boats are characterized by their unique and advanced design, and their high-speed engines, which give them flexibility and lightness in marine maneuvers.
It includes a sophisticated combination of electronic systems, such as: optical and thermal monitoring and sensor devices, information exchange and maritime navigation that enable it to carry out search, monitoring and follow-up missions through a highly intelligent electronic system. It also includes an artillery system that covers 360 degrees, and a modern and advanced system of high-precision missiles in Targeting and injury.
These boats are used to carry out various missions, including: rapid intervention, maintaining maritime security, and protecting marine installations.
The Deputy Commander of the Naval Forces, Rear Admiral Mohammed Al-Gharibi, stated that the boats launched today are a qualitative addition to the capabilities of the Naval Forces, as they will contribute to raising the level of military and security readiness, strengthening the maritime security force in the region and protecting the vital and strategic interests of Saudi Arabia.
Al-Gharibi noted the constant care and unlimited support of the wise leadership to develop the armed forces and raise their combat readiness.
