Lebanon witnessed a new day of anger, today (Tuesday), carried out by a number of depositors at the banks, and started moving in the morning from the vicinity of the House of Representatives and then heading to Bank Audi in Bab Idriss in the center of the capital Beirut, and the angry people set fire to the main entrance to the bank and smashed the ATM machines to head after They went to the house of the caretaker prime minister, Najib Mikati, trying to storm the barbed wire fence, but the security forces, army forces, and riot police confronted them and managed to thwart this attempt.
The hours of anger resulted in injuries among the depositors, who were beaten with sticks and pepper that burned their faces, in addition to tear gas canisters.
Richard Pharaon, Secretary of the “Depositors’ Cry” Association, said: “This move comes among a number of new moves that differ from the previous ones, pointing out that communication with officials, from the top of the pyramid to the bottom, did not receive any attention and did not reach any result during the past four years. What calls for an escalation, he said.
