The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority at the Haditha port managed to thwart an attempt to smuggle a quantity of Captagon pills amounting to (461,164) pills, which were found hidden in a consignment that came to the Kingdom through the port.
The authority stated that a consignment of “spare parts” was carried on one of the trucks, and when it was subjected to customs procedures and inspected through security techniques, that quantity of Captagon pills was found hidden within the consignment in the cavities of the spare parts.
The authority stated that after completing the seizure process, coordination took place with the General Directorate for Narcotics Control to ensure the arrest of the recipients of the seizures inside the Kingdom, as they were arrested, numbering 4 people.
The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority confirmed that it is continuing to tighten customs control over the Kingdom’s imports and exports, in order to achieve the security of society and protect it from these pests, in cooperation and continuous coordination with the General Directorate for Drug Control.
At the same time, the authority called on everyone to contribute to the fight against smuggling to protect society and the national economy, by contacting it on the number designated for security reports (1910) or via e-mail ([email protected]) or the international number (00966114208417). The Authority, through these channels, receives reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of the provisions of the unified customs system, in complete confidentiality, while granting a financial reward to the informer in the event that the information in the report is correct.
