Five students in the Eastern Province education took the lead in grabbing five medals, as part of their participation in the 2023 Balkan Mathematics Olympiad competition, by snatching a silver medal and four bronze medals.
The Director General of Education in the Eastern Region, Dr. Sami Al-Otaibi, presented this achievement to the Prince of the Eastern Region, Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, and his deputy, Prince Ahmed bin Fahd bin Salman, for their support of the region’s education, as well as motivating their male and female students to excel.
Dr. Al-Otaibi offered his sincere congratulations to his students for the strength of determination, persistence and will that led them to this distinction, and behind them their parents, schools and teachers. who had a major role in this distinction, stressing that the education of the region worked to provide a wide map of training and enrichment paths for its students to raise their scientific level; This is a translation of the ministry’s directives, which seeks to build a distinguished generation that competes globally and contributes to achieving the aspirations of its country in light of the ambitious vision of the Kingdom 2030.
For his part, the spokesman for Eastern Education, Saeed Al-Bahis, indicated that the winning students are: Ali Al-Ramadan, the silver medal, and the bronze medal: Iyad Al-Qatari, Hadi Al-Aythan, Mahdi Al-Beik, Moath Al-Qahtani.
It is noteworthy that the mathematics competition for the Balkan countries is one of the oldest competitions in the world, as it gains its importance from the strength of the participating countries and their pioneering role in establishing the International Mathematics Olympiad in 1957 AD. The Kingdom participates annually in this competition starting in 2010 AD.
