In a new development, the Sudanese army commander, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, today (Sunday), issued a decision to freeze the accounts of the Rapid Support Forces and its companies in Sudanese banks, internally and externally, and not to pay any entitlements or budgets to the Rapid Support Forces.
The office of the head of the Sudanese army, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, said in a statement that he had dismissed the governor of the Central Bank, Hussein Yahya Jangoul, and appointed Barai Al-Siddiq Ahmed (one of Jangoul’s deputies) as the new governor of the bank, and the reasons are not yet clear.
On the other hand, the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned today, in the strongest terms, the Rapid Support Forces’ attack and forcible entry on Saturday to the Jabra and Ahmed Qassem Heart and Kidney Hospitals, assaulting medical staff, terrorizing patients and stealing ambulances, which led the two hospital administrations to take a decision to transfer patients to other safe hospitals.
The ministry called on the international community, the World Health Organization and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights to condemn the behavior of the Rapid Support Forces.
