Amid conflicting news about Bakhmut, the Russian Wagner Group announced today (Sunday) that it had made new progress in the city, while Kiev provided different information about the course of the battles. The founder of the Wagner company, Yevgeny Prigozhin, said that his forces had advanced 500 meters in the city of Bakhmut, “and only 1.5 square kilometers remained under the control of the Ukrainians.” He added that his forces filled the void left by the retreat of the Russian forces in the northern wing of the city.
However, Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar reported that Ukrainian forces are gradually advancing in two directions on the outskirts of Bakhmut. And the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the Ukrainian Air Force had bombed a factory in Lugansk with British-made missiles. She said that the Ukrainian army continues to destroy the Russian forces, and managed to capture many fighters, according to her.
