Taif University, represented by the Intellectual Awareness Unit, implemented a program on “The Importance of Cybersecurity for National Security” in applying best practices and awareness in achieving the required levels of cybersecurity. Which will be consistent with the national framework in achieving the integrity of national digital systems and assets, presented by Dr. Muhammad Al-Shehri.
The university stated that the program was a continuation of the efforts of Taif University in developing cybersecurity concepts in building a secure system and governance at the national level, as it included information on the concept of cybersecurity and the technical and legal measures it includes to ensure the protection of information from risks in cyberspace, and how to achieve immunization from intrusions. In his work, he aims to educate society about the importance of cybersecurity, and the need to maintain cybersecurity requirements to achieve the interests of national security in the Kingdom. His paragraphs also included identifying the controls for compliance with the application of the basics of cybersecurity in order to reach a safe and reliable national cyberspace.
The university indicated that the program contained an introduction to cybersecurity, its foundations and importance, and the extent to which cybersecurity relates to national security, as well as a review of the national strategy for cybersecurity to achieve national interests in protecting the national cyberspace in the Kingdom, and the latest basic controls for cybersecurity to achieve the safety of national digital systems and assets.
