Surprisingly, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived yesterday evening (Sunday) at the Villacoublay air base in southwest Paris, on an unannounced visit to France, and to attend a working dinner with President Emmanuel Macron.
French Prime Minister Elizabeth Bourne and Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna were receiving the Ukrainian president, who will later go to the presidential palace, where the two presidents will discuss France’s “support” in response to Ukraine’s urgent needs on the military and humanitarian levels, according to the Elysee.
And the Elysee Palace announced that Macron would reaffirm France and Europe’s firm support for Ukraine’s restoration of its legitimate rights and the defense of its fundamental interests.
On Sunday, German Chancellor Olaf Schultz said, in the presence of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, that Ukraine is part of the European family.
