Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah received, in Jeddah today (Tuesday), Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad in Algeria, Ahmed Ataf, and his accompanying delegation.
During the reception, they reviewed the strong fraternal relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, and ways to enhance and develop them in order to achieve common interests, in addition to discussing developments on the Arab and international arenas, and joint efforts in everything that achieves international peace and security.
The two ministers chaired the meeting of the fourth session of the Saudi-Algerian Political Consultations Committee, where they discussed aspects of intensifying bilateral and multilateral coordination, and consolidating joint action on many regional and international issues, in a way that enhances stability and prosperity for the two brotherly countries and peoples.
After that, the two ministers signed an agreement to establish the Saudi-Algerian Supreme Coordination Council, which aims to move bilateral relations towards broader horizons in various fields.
The meeting was attended by the Assistant Minister of State for African Countries Affairs, Ambassador Dr. Sami Al-Saleh, the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Algeria, Dr. Abdullah Al-Busairi, and the Director General of the General Administration of Councils and Committees Secretariats, Engineer Fahd Al-Harthy.
