The Special Forces for Environmental Security arrested 43 violators of the environmental law (23 citizens and 20 residents of Sudanese nationality), who committed violations of grazing 1,205 camels and 77 heads of sheep in places where grazing is prohibited in the King Abdulaziz Royal Reserve, the King Salman Royal Reserve, and the Imam Reserve. The spokesman for the Special Forces for Environmental Security, Colonel Abdul Rahman Al-Otaibi, stated that the regular procedures were applied against the violators, stressing that the penalty for violating camel grazing is a fine of up to 500 riyals per body, and the penalty for grazing sheep is a fine of 200 riyals per head.
He urged Al-Otaibi to report any cases that represent an attack on the environment or wildlife on the number (911) in the regions of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province, and (999) and (996) in the rest of the Kingdom’s regions.
