Political affairs advisor to the Rapid Support Forces commander, Youssef Ezzat, said today (Wednesday) that the Rapid Support Forces commander, Muhammad Hamdan Daglo, “Hamedti,” is ready to meet with the army commander, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, “at any time and place chosen by the mediators,” on condition of a cease-fire.
During his meeting with the President of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, in Juba, he considered that the president of the southern neighbor is the person who understands the Sudanese problem the most, denying the use of “rapid support” citizens as human shields.
He added, “The Rapid Support Forces” formed a force to protect civilians and their property in order to limit the looting and looting taking place in the neighborhoods and markets of Khartoum, pointing out that the Rapid Support Forces control 90% of the areas of Khartoum.
Hemedti’s political advisor had said that the RSF wanted a solution for a lasting peace, not warmongers.
