Okaz obtained the list of health specializations targeted in the second phase of the Ministry of Health’s plan for external scholarships 2023. It reached 104 majors; It includes 52 specializations for doctors, 8 for dentistry, 36 seats for non-physician health cadres, and 8 for non-health cadres.
The target category of physicians specializes in anesthesia, open-heart surgery, heart surgery, adult kidney disease, neurosurgery, vascular surgery, clinical pathology, neonatal and adult intensive care, orthopedics, and electrical cardiac catheterization.
Dental specialties included oral and maxillofacial surgery, oral medicine and diseases, root canal treatment, pediatric dentistry, periodontal disease and surgery, dental repair, orthodontics, and prosthodontics.
The health cadres’ seats included bridging in the specialty of general nursing, and a master’s degree in the rest of the specializations, the most prominent of which are obstetrics and gynecology nursing, mental health nursing, oncology nursing, histology, clinical pathology, clinical immunology, pharmacy (a doctor of pharmacist and a 10-seat fellowship). and emergency and disaster management.
The seats included for non-health cadres in master’s studies in the majors of architecture, human resource management, law, cyber security, information systems, artificial intelligence, data science, and software engineering.
Among the general and specific target specialties for doctors and dentists that include anesthesiology, open heart anesthesia and surgery, cardiac surgery, adult nephrology, respiratory medicine, neurosurgery, adult oncology surgery, pediatric surgery, radiation oncology, vascular surgery, medicine Immunology and Allergy, Clinical Pathology, Family Medicine, Dermatology, Forensic Medicine, and Pediatric Intensive Care.
And the Ministry of Health stressed the general conditions for external scholarships, that the applicant be a Saudi citizen, and that he be one of its employees in the civil service, self-employment, or directorates of health affairs in the regions and governorates according to the job ladder.
Among the most important conditions is that the candidate should not have breached his job duties or a disciplinary penalty has been issued against him as a result of failing to perform the work during the two years preceding the candidacy, and that he should not be referred to investigation, or blindfolded, or a party to an existing case, and that his mission had not previously been terminated, or Dispatched as a result of negligence or negligence on his part, due to his poor academic level, or due to his breach of his duties as a scholarship or delegate to study.
The ministry revealed that all applications are subject to comparison between applicants, and among the conditions for scholarships for non-doctors is that the applicant has spent at least one year in government service when submitting the scholarship application, and that his age does not exceed 40 years for bridge candidates, and 45 years for master’s candidates, while doctors and dentists are required The last job performance evaluation should not be less than very good.
