The deputy head of security affairs in the province, Ali Reza Marahamati, said: “The gunmen used hand grenades to attack Outpost No. 16 in Zahedan.” He added that the attack resulted in the death of a police officer.
These events came days after a security man was killed and two others were injured in a clash with wanted persons in the city of Baft in Kerman province, southeastern Iran.
The city’s mayor, Farhad Arasti, said: The wanted men opened fire on the police forces while they were executing a judicial order to arrest them, according to Fars news agency.
It is noteworthy that last April, the commander of the Internal Security Forces was killed in the border city of Saravan in the province of Sistan and Baluchestan, southeastern Iran, by gunfire.
The governor of Sarawan, Saeed Tajlili, said that unknown assailants shot the commander of the Internal Security Forces in Saravan, Ali Reza Shahrki, on April 30, killing him and wounding his wife.
