The ministry stated that the terrorist embraced the takfiri approach, belonged to one of the terrorist organizations, financed terrorism and terrorist operations, and covered up information about the terrorist operation at the Al-Wadiah crossing and the General Investigation building in Sharurah and its participants before committing it.
She added that the terrorist covered up a number of people with deviant tendencies, did not inform the security authorities about them, participated in hostilities in Yemen, and trained in weapons, as he was referred to the specialized court, which issued a document against him proving his guilt in what was attributed to him, and sentencing him to death by discretionary punishment.
And she confirmed that a royal order was issued to implement what was decided by Sharia and was supported by its reference, and the death sentence was implemented as a punishment for the offender today in Makkah Al-Mukarramah.
The sources of “Okaz” had revealed that the terrorist Al-Karbi had joined Al-Qaeda in Yemen and approved the plan of the cell leader to storm the Al-Wadiah land crossing, and attack several targets, including the storming of the investigations building and the intelligence building in Sharurah governorate.
The terrorist cell transported three “Grad” missiles, with the intention of using them in the terrorist operation at the crossing. The leader of the cell also mobilized the “jeep” vehicle used to storm the crossing, as he carried out an operation to detonate 4 barrels of explosive materials. It weighs 1,000 kilograms, but the detonation failed during the storming of the port at the time of the crowds of fasting people heading to Friday prayers, as the attackers opened fire on the security men, following the attack of a jeep carrying Gulf plates, at the Al-Wadiah border crossing with Yemen. And the security patrol was seized by two of the perpetrators, and they headed to Sharurah Governorate in the Najran region, and immediately the security men chased them and clashed with those traveling in the first car, where three of them were killed, the fourth was wounded and arrested, while a security man was killed.
The security spokesman at the Ministry of Interior indicated that at the same time, the other car that was seized, and two of the perpetrators were traveling in it, headed to the reception building of the General Investigation in Sharurah Governorate, and the building they stormed is considered a private office to receive auditors from the governorate, as we were able to Entering the building after killing one of the security men. The building was cordoned off by the security forces, and those inside were immediately evacuated.
Four of the security men were killed while they were fasting. The operation also resulted in the killing of five people who espoused deviant ideology, and the arrest of the sixth after he was wounded.
Two of the dead terrorists had barricaded themselves in the upper floors of the reception building of the Security Investigation Service in Sharurah Governorate, and they tried to target a security official in the governorate, but fate had decided otherwise, and the official was not at the headquarters at the time of the attack.
The attackers were trapped in the upper floor, and given the opportunity to surrender, so the two perpetrators detonated themselves.
Investigations revealed that the leader of the cell organization had prepared and equipped highly explosive materials inside the rooms of a mosque, inside which chemicals used to manufacture explosives, remotely detonated mobile phones, documents, cash and other mechanisms that he tried to use in the process of socialization were found.
The members of the deviant group were in possession of 14 hand grenades, 11 Molotov cocktails, four machine guns, 26 magazines for machine guns, 26 ammunition (9) mm, and 1549 rounds for machine guns.
