The work of the Second International Conference on Kidney Diseases, entitled “Diabetes Nephropathy”, organized by the Armed Forces Hospitals Department in Taif Governorate, in cooperation with the Saudi Society for Kidney Diseases and Transplantation, was launched in the presence of a number of specialists in Taif. Dr. Naglaa Al-Maliki in Taif Health Affairs, that diabetic nephropathy is the main cause of kidney failure, as it constitutes more than 46% of hemodialysis patients in dialysis units in the Kingdom, according to the latest statistics of the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation.
