As if everything is preparing for the big bang. Hardly a day passes on the southern border of Lebanon without a dispute between Hezbollah and Israel, sometimes for the sake of barbed wire, and another for the sake of a tent erected on the Blue Line, and the last of which, yesterday (Saturday), was exposure to media professionals who were accompanied by Representative Qassem Hashem, a member of the leadership of the Baath Party. An ally of the party and the Shiite duo.
The Israeli media blames Hezbollah and says that it has a desire to ignite the borders for only a few days, that is, an effort towards a limited clash to achieve limited results. Observers believe that this operation has three goals: to show Lebanon’s need for the party’s weapons to confront Israel, and to put pressure on society. the international community, and establishing its interests and desires in the Lebanese presidential elections.
In the opinion of Lebanese observers, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also has an interest in a limited confrontation for several days in which he investigates the lifting of the internal blockade he faces from the Israeli opposition, and the embarrassment of US President Joe Biden’s administration, which escalates his face, in addition to evading the land demarcation of the borders with Lebanon.
Against the background of the two approaches, it seems that the party and Netanyahu meet in content without meeting in form, as the two parties seek a limited confrontation for several days, in which they have many goals. However, what hinders this is that the American side is watching carefully, as the world and all its spectra are heading towards an era of settlements, not confrontations. The world cannot bear a confrontation over what is happening on Ukrainian soil. This is a firm international decision that no one can bypass or jump over.
The Lebanese government is also absent from everything that is happening. Its defense minister is busy obstructing the appointment of a chief of staff, and its prime minister is absent from his city and hometown, so how about if the matter is in the south? As for the representatives of its parliament, they are searching for a name to vote for for the presidency of the republic, while the security forces in it are seeking to secure the salaries of its members.
On the ground, the people of the south expect their region to be economically prosperous, and they are spreading new tourist resorts to receive families in villas and private swimming pools, and many put everything they have in establishing these resorts, and betting on the coming weeks to get back what they paid with some profits that help them in the winter days and what awaits them. from economic hardships, but a limited or unlimited war would destroy their dreams and turn them into illusions.
It is a new adventure that is being played on its production, but the question that comes up in every case like this.. Does Nasrallah know the consequences of such a limited war on his society and his fans? Or will he say that what happened he did not wish for, as he said in 2006, after the great Israeli aggression, “if I had known?”
