Prince Turki bin Talal, the Emir of the Asir region and head of its development authority, inaugurated the Coffee Cooperative Association in Rijal Almaa Governorate, with the aim of strengthening the position of coffee in the Kingdom as a social heritage and a sustainable economic resource, raising the level of coffee cultivation, and empowering members of the local community to achieve economic benefit and social impact.
The association aims to increase productive efficiency, create job opportunities, contribute to rural development, attract donors and strategic partners in the Kingdom, and educate and educate farmers about the importance of coffee cultivation. and encourage local farmers to grow coffee. 30 farms benefited from the association, and 6 workshops were held on how to take care of coffee, and a farmers’ training program that included holding 4 courses, while the work carried out by the association included selling about 1,000 bags to 100 beneficiary farms, as well as selling coffee seedlings to 80 farms, and attracting donors from 4 Specialized companies, the establishment of 4 government projects and national initiatives in this aspect, as well as 4 educational workshops for the community, and the implementation of 5 community participations.
