While the media is talking about a political road map that will end the war that has been going on for 4 months, it was discussed in the Chadian capital; Sources in the Sudanese government revealed to “France Press” today (Sunday) that government representatives have arrived in Saudi Arabia to resume talks with the Rapid Support Forces, after a Saudi-American statement in which they pledged their joint commitment to ending the conflict in Sudan.
The head of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, confirmed that the Sudanese government is ready for a cease-fire as soon as the Rapid Support Forces respond to the demands of evacuating citizens’ homes, water, electricity and energy service centers, hospitals, civilian objects and government headquarters of its members.
The head of the Sovereignty Council stressed the importance of the Jeddah platform, thanking the Saudi and American governments for facilitating the negotiation process. While the commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, known as “Hemedti”, announced yesterday the formation of a liaison committee with political forces and armed movements to reach a comprehensive political solution to the crisis in the country, in a statement he posted on his official account on the social networking site Facebook.
He pointed out that the committee is chaired by the political advisor of the Rapid Support Forces, Youssef Ezzat, with the membership of Lana Mahdi, Bella Muhammad, and Fatima Ali, stressing commitment to the principle of dialogue as a basic necessity to reach a comprehensive political solution.
He pointed out that the committee will carry out the tasks of holding broad consultations on the ongoing Sudanese crisis and the current war, and the best way to reach a comprehensive solution that addresses the crisis from its roots with the participation of all political, youth and societal forces, provided that it seeks the assistance of what it deems appropriate.
On the other hand, an informed source told Al-Arabiya and Al-Hadath TV that a consultative meeting was held between 3 leaders of the Sudanese Justice and Equality Movement and a delegation from the Rapid Support, headed by Abdul Rahim Daglo, to discuss a political map to end the war.
The source pointed out that the vision of the three leaders converges with the RSF, but it is different from the vision of the head of the movement, Jibril Ibrahim, who is neutral in the war, indicating that the RSF delegation will hold meetings in many European capitals to search for a political way out of the crisis.
