The “professor” Nayef Al-Zari did not complete the year and a half as Director General of Jeddah Education, but this period was sufficient to fix many outstanding files in “Jeddah Education” since Abdullah Al-Thaqafi passed away. Al-Zari, with his administrative vision and educational wisdom, was able to impose his easy and discreet style on all educational files and issues, until he ended them with the help of teaching staff, including assistants, department directors and office managers. Al-Zari spent 15 months among the administrations and departments of Jeddah education, organizing, motivating and encouraging. Putting departments on one side and education offices for boys and girls on the other side. He never appeared with a frown, but his stimulating smile and reassuring features were his friendliness and manner.
Al-Zari loved the daily work in “Jeddah Education”, and everyone loved him. The administration employees exchanged love for him with love and respect for the same. Leaders, supervisors, administrators, teachers and students. He never closed his door, but devoted all his office staff to organize and meet all those who wished to meet him and submit a complaint or inquiry. He used to finish all the requests of the auditors, then devote himself to motivation and encouragement by attending extra-curricular events and occasions because of his belief in their importance and role in completing the public education system.
Perhaps the most important achievement of Al-Zari during his tenure was that the administration achieved a large number of achievements and won international medals and merits, as the administration achieved more than 352 international medals in various competitions. At the level of “Jeddah Education”, an investment in the Arab Reading Challenge project, which created opportunities for cognitive development and reading progress, believing in the role of free reading in improving learning outcomes in accordance with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, in addition to its sponsorship and interest in the “Jeddah Arts” competition, which male and female students are waiting for every year, as it created a plastic movement between male and female students and senior plastic artists in Saudi Arabia.
In the field of “digital transformation”, the administration has embarked on the implementation of the interactive screens and educational technology project to provide applied lessons through interactive screens in schools at the administration and ministry levels.
The administration proceeded to distribute schools in the neighborhoods affected by the removal, according to plans to redraw the school map.
The administration succeeded in the digital transformation of the school through the School Supplies Portal, which is an interactive smart portal that provides school supplies management services electronically in terms of need, exchange and educational supplies such as furniture and so on.
The administration also distributed more than 4,000 seedlings within the initiative of the governorate, “Green Jeddah”, to 177 schools that plant them in their surroundings, and completed the digital transformation project for schools, converting all paper transactions into electronic ones, creating and activating all ministerial accounts and linking them to the system, providing technical support, in addition to creating a directory of investment opportunities.
In the biggest challenge faced by the Jeddah Education Department in closed schools and removed neighborhoods, the administration succeeded in addressing closed and annexed schools, distributing the increase in educational positions in annexation and closure schools, and benefiting from the increase in schools with a shortage of male and female teachers.
The administration honored a large number of male and female teachers in a large carnival on World Teachers’ Day.
The department also won the Kingdom Championship for Boys and Girls 2022, won the Makkah Award for Urban Excellence, and the formation of the Community Partnerships Committee, and the department won first place in the Ministry of Human Resources in volunteer work.
Al-Zari also succeeded in restructuring the offices and administrative buildings of the public administration, and establishing institutional and organized work for social responsibility and community partnerships with civil society institutions at all levels.
It is a different time period in “Jeddah Education”, which witnessed many achievements and the organization and improvement of work with the moral values of organized work.
